Why infectious diseases persist: A Rapid review of the social determinants of Malaria, Cholera, Tuberculosis and Yellow Fever in Sub-Saharan Africa

This review highlights the social determinants associated with some infectious diseases in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) over past decade. Guided by PRISMA and Population Concept Context (PCC), database searches PubMed, Science Direct Elsevier, Springer Link, Plos One, Google search were employed to identify relevant studies. For extraction of data from scripts, Metaanalysis thematic analysis was used. The results show that few countries SSA are engaged fight against these diseases. More so, Malaria had greatest discussed (35%) followed Cholera TB (30% 20% respectively). >80% population studies pregnant women, women children below 5, 5 rural areas. highlighted study include amongst others descending order: capital, community engagements, health care services, behaviours/habits, safe drinking water, housing toilet facilities, personal hygiene, groupings. Without underestimating impact any contribution diseases, this suggests further deliberate on effects each them health. It also recommends a need for policy development regard considering biological/medical as twin tool elimination diseases.
 Cette revue met en lumière les déterminants sociaux associés à certaines maladies infectieuses Afrique subsaharienne (ASS) au cours de la dernière décennie. Guidées par et des recherches dans bases données PloS One ont été utilisées pour identifier études pertinentes. Pour extraire pertinentes , une méta-analyse analyse thématique utilisées. Les résultats montrent que peu pays d’ASS sont engagés lutte contre ces maladies. Plus, encore, le paludisme avait plus grands discutés (35 %), suivi du choléra tuberculose (30 % 20 respectivement). étaient femmes enceintes, avec enfants moins ans zones rurales. mis évidence l’étude comprennent entre autres ordre décroissant : capital social, engagements communautaires, services soins santé, comportements/habitudes l’eau potable, logement toilettes, l’hygiène personnelle groupements sociaux. Sans sous-estimer l’impact l’un ou l’autre aux infectieuses, cette propose approfondies délibérées sur effets chacun d’eux santé population. Il recommande également nécessité d’élaborer politiques cet égard considérant biologiques/médicaux comme un outil double l’élimination infectieuses.
